ABOUT CHARLES SLACK, MD
CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF PLASTIC SURGERY
HONESTY, INTEGRITY AND EDUCATION
Dr. Slack and his staff operate with one simple guiding principle – the patient comes first.
This starts with the initial consultation, where Dr. Slack personally meets with each patient. Patients get the time, attention, and information they need to make the decision that is best for them.
Known for his integrity and sensitivity toward patient needs and concerns, Dr. Slack is professional and reassuring. He invests in proper patient education and honesty to lay the groundwork for realistic expectations and a strong doctor-patient relationship. Selecting a surgeon who makes you comfortable and confident is key to achieving the results you hope for. Dr. Slack wants you to know that “the trust you show in selecting me as your surgeon is not something I take lightly.”
REALSELF TOP CONTRIBUTOR
A plastic surgery specialist is a physician with extensive training in the execution of plastic surgery procedures. Plastic surgery is the use of surgical procedures to rebuild or reshape injured or misshapen body parts. Congenital defects, such as a cleft lip or palate, can be corrected by a plastic surgery specialist. Injuries sustained during auto accidents also may require the services of a plastic surgery specialist. These procedures fall under the category of reconstructive plastic surgery. The other category of plastic surgery is cosmetic plastic surgery. Plastic surgery specialists often perform procedures like breast augmentation, face lifts, tummy tucks, liposuction, and lip injection as elective surgeries for patients who wish to make aesthetic improvements.

OLD SCHOOL SERVICE
As one of the first plastic surgeons in Allen, Dr. Slack has been serving the community for over 15 years. Originally from the Dallas area, he moved to Allen in 2001 because he liked the idea of being a small town doctor – partly because he wanted to do a variety of procedures and partly because he truly enjoys interacting with people.
“I like that I’m not just a hired guy in an office. I’m part of the community,” he says. That “small town” now has a population over 100,000.” And “the practice has expanded to include McKinney, Frisco, Plano and well beyond, bringing in patients from all across Texas. Even so, Dr. Slack still gives his patients undivided time and attention. He works to build the kind of doctor-patient relationship that is becoming obsolete in today’s economically-driven medical environment.
That means when a patient sees Dr. Slack, before any sort of exam they will be greeted by him in the lobby first. Then they will stop in his office for an in-depth discussion about the patient’s goals and what various procedures can and cannot do to help achieve the desired results.
“They are entrusting their body and health to me, and I don’t take that lightly,” Slack says. He continues the same leve of care – focusing on the relationship with the patient – from exam to surgey to post-op check-ups. “Honesty and good communication is key.”
